The body shell of the modern Meteor is produced from glass fibre, using a mould taken from one of the original plywood bodies. It sits on a tubular steel chassis, which is uprated from the 1940’s design with addition of a shock-absorber and 16″ wheel. A fold-down screen is mounted on a cast aluminium bar in front of the cockpit and the seat tilts forward to provide access to storage space behind.
The Zanzara is a variation on the Meteor, specifically designed for fitting to Vespa’s popular GTS 250 and GTS 300 scooters.
Watsonian now offer a fitting to to pair the classic Meteor sidecar with the retro Royal Enfield Continental GT cafe racer. The aerodynamic design of the Meteor complements the lines of the cafe racer perfectly.
“The archetypal sporting sidecar outfit and a truly vintage experience” Peter Henshaw, Motor Cycle News, March 2015.
