The Versatile Watsonian Platform Chassis
The Watsonian Platform Chassis is more than just a sidecar – it’s a transformative cargo carrier that adapts to your every adventure. Need to haul gear? This versatile base can handle anything from a toolbox to a bicycle, or even another motorcycle! Passengers are no problem either. Simply attach a sidecar body (sold separately) using the convenient 4-point mounting system. When the journey changes, convert it back to a luggage platform in a jiffy.
- Strong foundation: The platform sits on a powder-coated tubular steel frame for strength and longevity.
- Smooth ride: Hydraulic suspension ensures a comfortable ride for you and your cargo.
- Reliable handling: 16-inch wheel with stainless steel spokes and a machined Watsonian hub provides excellent handling (10-inch alloy wheel option available).
Standard equipment: Includes a GRP mudguard, lights, indicators, wiring, and a checker plate base for secure cargo placement.
Customize your setup: Explore a range of optional extras, including a bicycle rack, tradesman’s box, and sidecar body, to perfectly suit your needs.

Please note: The Platform Chassis is designed for carrying loads. When running unladen, a 25kg ballast is required for safe operation.
Sidecar for Mobility Scooters
For motorcycle riders who also use a mobility scooter, we offer a longer and wider version of the Platform Chassis, specially adapted for their needs. Built from scratch in our UK factory, our experienced team of engineers will ensure that your mobility scooter will fit neatly on the platform and will be easy to get on and off it. Please note – the Platform Chassis is ONLY for carrying cargo, not people, so a passenger must not sit on the mobility scooter when the outfit is being ridden.
You may also qualify for VAT relief, reducing the cost of the job. If a disabled person who’s not a wheelchair user needs a motor vehicle to be adapted to meet the needs of their condition, the adaptations can be zero-rated (in other words, we would not charge VAT on your bill for the conversion). We would deal with this for you.
